The Manor House … is a period stone home that was constructed in 1896 for Washingtonian elites seeking respite from the summer heat in the nearby Blueridge mountains; typically, temperatures are 10 degrees cooler. Remnants of the Snickersville railroad station are still visible in old Bluemont, from which High Meadows residents would take horse and carriage to the property. High Meadows Estate was constructed in 1896. Upgraded and renovated over the years, the Estate Manor House now offers period charms, such as:

OUTSIDE: stone pillar and wrought iron front entrance gates; stone perimeter fences constructed 150 years ago surrounding and carving through the Estate; two historic old stone and standing seam metal roofed barns; picturesque front, side and rear stone and wood wisteria-flowered porches overlooking gardens to all sides; beautiful walking gardens and large mature trees; a manicured meadow with walking paths cut through tall grasses; summer lawn games such as boules, croquette, and other. 

INSIDE: all wood heart-pine flooring, three-foot thick stone walls, an historic telephone, original wood trim and doors, and thick inset window wells, complemented by all the normal and expected modern-day amenities including high-speed internet. In addition to a wonderful art and eclectic book collection, the Manor House offers a period record player and vinyl collection, Persian carpets, comfortable and tasteful furniture, soft throw-blankets, luxury linens, the highest-quality bedding and bath-towels, plentiful toiletries and bath niceties, a fully-stocked coffee bar, a games collection, candles, aromatherapy and many other niceties.

The Manor House offers four large en-suite bedrooms, sleeping four couples comfortably, with room for two additional people on request:

• The large Master bedroom ~ lovely art collection, queen bed, dressing room, ample dresser space, large wall mirror, deep-set windows overlooking the grounds to the rear of the Estate. The master bath is private and exclusive to the master bedroom and has a clawfoot soaking bathtub, separate walk in shower, period vanity, perfect for a special occasion or just spoiling yourself. 

• The second bedroom ~ book and photograph collection, queen sized bed, dresser and large wall mirror, bookcase and book collection, deep-set windows looking to the garden side of the property. A full bathroom is located in close proximity, and contains a stone floor, walk-in shower and wood and granite vanity.

• The third bedroom ~ french-inspired art collection, queen bed, large dresser and wall mirror, bookcase with large book collection, deep-set windows overlooking the rear of the Estate. Shares a jack-and-jill bathroom with the fourth bedroom.

• The fourth bedroom ~ art collection, queen bed, dressing table and large wall mirror, closet, expansive book-cases and book collection, deep-set period windows overlook the front gardens.  Shares a jack-and-jill bathroom containing a claw foot soaking tub, a granite period vanity, and tiffany lighting.

Other rooms include:

• A large upstairs hallway and reading nook with period windows overlooking the front gardens of the Estate;

• A full-service laundry room with washer, dryer, detergents and ironing board; 

• A large sunroom with twin-sized daybed overlooking the back gardens of the Estate, a desk overlooking the gardens, an art easel and supplies;

• A large living room with gas fireplace, feather couch , smart television, stone terraces,  gas grill and jacuzzi;

• A large family room with wood burning stove and plush reading chairs leading to the back sunroom; 

• An elegant large country-style dining room, wine glass cabinet, cocktail books and glasses, table linens, beautiful chandelier and art collection;

• A fully-equipped kitchen offering all that may be needed by way of bar, bake, cook and table-ware and all appliances;

• A full coffee bar offering every kind of coffee-maker: Kurig, drip, french press, pour over.  Syrups, creamer, sugar, and other niceties included; 

• A large side trellised deck opening to dining room with large elegant exterior table and seating, gas grill, lighting, and sun loungers.
